Dominique Poirier


Dominique Poirier has been playing the trombone since she was 12. After studying jazz trombone, he calls her Latin music and she goes to Mexico to play with different funk and salsa artists. She has accompanied several Quebec and international artists such as Willie Torres, Angélique Kidjo, Maelo Ruiz, Dominique Hudson and Ismaël Miranda. With music, she travels through Canada, the US, Europe, Mexico and Cuba. In 2008, she participated in the Carnival of Brazil (Carnaval da Bahia), during which she danced and played percussion.

Dominique also travels across Quebec to give samba-reggae dance workshops. She has received various awards and prizes for her work, notably in the Bombolessé group (Conseil des arts du Québec, Prix Étoile montante Galaxie, OJIQ scholarships) and has participated in the recording of different albums (Bombolessé, Salin and the Infinite Connection, Lengaïa Salsa Brava). For some years now, she has also been performing with children, with the play La Fanfare, which is a Strata production.
