
Karine Deschamps
Karine Deschamps, aka Kay Dee, is recognized by the public for her appearance on La Voix in 2013. She has been singing since childhood, performing with her mother Judi Richards and starting in the advertising studios. As a teenager, she began singing in bars, aspiring to become a singer-songwriter. She has participated in several competitions and won the award for Performer of the Year at Ma première Place des arts in 2011. Karine also provided backing vocals for the Lewis Furey show, which toured in festivals in Montreal, France and Japan.
With the subversive gospel band Irreverend James and the Critical Mass Choir, she has participated in the Montreal Jazz Festival and the Halifax Pop Explosion. In 2019, she formed a trio with her sister Sarah and her mother, named Judi & FILLES, releasing an album of interpretations titled Héritage. The trio also released a holiday album of original songs titled Noël chez les Deschamps, mostly written and composed by Karine. This album accompanied a show of the same name, featuring her children and her sister Annie, who is a stand-up comedian.
Since 2021, Karine has had the privilege and immense joy of performing with the OLP band Dance Deluxe. She also sings with the funk band Cloud 9 Funk Project.
